George Earl Rogers, 89 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma passes away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
George was born to Charles Franklin and Mary Uta (Fawcett) Rogers on January 7, 1932 in Middleburg, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wynona High School in 1951. Shortly after graduating he enlisted in the United States Army. While being in the military George earned a medal for "Good Conduct". After he was discharged, he attended OSU in Stillwater where he received a Master's Degree in Science and Horticulture in 1962. George was an educator for 27 years, the last 13 years of his career he worked at the Prue High School. In 1975 he moved to Hominy, Oklahoma and ran a greenhouse nursery business, the "Hominy Plant It" for 10 years. He enjoyed growing his own plants and also visiting with his many Hominy friends.
George is survived by: wife, Jewell "Judy" Rogers; children, Vickie and husband Gary Cox; James and wife Anna Rogers of Skiatook, Oklahoma with children Jeremy, Brandon and Sara; Rhonda Rogers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Keith and wife Roberta Rogers of Inola, Oklahoma with children Laura, Chelsea, and Jennifer; Christopher Rogers of Lubbox, Texas and daughter Kristal; Timothy and wife Danielle Rogers of McKinney, Texas and children Kayla and Joshua; Nicholas Rogers of Hominy, Oklahoma with children Keyton, Alexandra and Nichole; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
George is preceded in death by: parents, Charles and Mary Rogers; daughter, Debbie Conley; son, David Rogers; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Services will be at 2:00PM, Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the Wynona Assembly of God with Pastor Travis Barbee officiating. Burial will follow services at A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma.
