Karen Denise Galubenski of Denton passed away surrounded by her family on October 17, 2021, at her home in Denton, Texas. Denise was a loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother who will truly be missed.
She loved her family and hugs from her grandchildren who were her everything. She was a dear friend to many and proudly served as an Academic Advisor for the University of North Texas for 33 years before she retired in 2017. We will miss her greatly but know she has found rest with our Lord and has reunited with her parents and husband in heaven.
Denise was born in Beaver, Oklahoma on August 22, 1954 to Von and Treva Dickson who preceded her in death.
Denise married the love of her life, the late David Galubenski, in January 3rd, 1993.
She leaves behind her children, son Chris McKinney and wife Brittany of Sanger, daughter Heather Johnson and husband James of Denton, grandchildren Valerie, Kyle, Tyler, Drew, Clay, Aubree, CJ, Caden, and River, sister Lisa Geels and husband Ron of Arkansas and a host of other family members. Her body was prepared for burial by DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas and will be transported to Oklahoma for a burial with Dr. Larry Reynolds officiating.
Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday, October 22nd from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Services will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Saturday, October 23rd at 10:00am with Dr. Larry Reynolds. Burial will be at the Ravia Cemetery, in Ravia, Oklahoma following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Dallas TX in Denise's name.
