Services for Joel Adkins were held Monday, Dec. 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
The Rev. Charles Barnett and the Rev. Dudley Winstead officiated. Burial was in Goodhope Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mr. Adkins, 66, of Philadelphia, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 in Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
He was a native of Neshoba County and longtime resident of the Goodhope community. He was a retired dairy farmer, formerly served in the Mississippi National Guard and was a member of Goodhope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Adkins of Philadelphia; three sons, Larry Adkins, Terry Adkins and Donnie Adkins, all of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Audrey Adkins of Philadelphia; one sister, Martha Ann Tingle of Philadelphia and one brother, Howard Glenn Adkins of Ona, W.V.
Pallbearers were Bennie Lee Adkins, Glen Ellingburg, David Ellingburg, Charles Ellingburg, Bobby Branning, Earl Cumberland, Steve Adkins and Ricky McDonald.
