Mrs. Edith Bumgarner Hollar
Granite Falls- Mrs. Edith Bumgarner Hollar, 94, formerly of Central Ave., Granite Falls went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, December 7, 2007 at Camelot Nursing Home.
She was born April 19, 1913 in Caldwell County to the late Myra Elizabeth Bumgarner. Mrs. Hollar was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Brady Peter Hollar; four sisters, Carrie Green, Maude Jones, Minnie Bell Bostic and Aileen Bumgarner; two brothers, Garland Edgar and Cecil J. Bumgarner; her son-in-law, Fred Pope.
She is survived by two sons, Brady Dean Hollar and wife Doris of Granite Falls and Gerald D. Hollar and wife Donna of Hudson; her daughter, Jackie H. Pope of Granite Falls; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hollar will be 3:00 pm Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Mackie-High Chapel in Granite Falls with the Rev. Tom McDonald, Rev. Dr. Rick Crouse and Rev. Wayne White officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
