Mrs. Elizabeth Alford, 72, was found dead in her home on South Davis street, Santa Rosa, Sunday, apparently having passed away in her sleep. Death was due to natural causes. Deceased was the mother of Mrs. Hattie Little of Sebastopol. Other children surviving are Mrs. Clara Hester, Napa; Mrs. Laura Manor and Mrs. Bertha Mead, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Eva Castro, Spokane, Washington; Mrs. Jessie Howard, Chicago, Illinois, and James Ward of Bay, California. There are also several grandchildren and one brother W.A. Batten of Sebastopol.
Deceased was a native of Iowa, but had been a resident of California for 67 years. She had occupied the home in Santa Rosa in which she died for 30 years. Funeral services were held from the Welti Bros. chapel in Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning and deceased was laid to rest in the Bennett valley cemetery.
