She was born June 30, 1913, in Smith Center, KS to Fred & Ida Holmes. Hester graduated from high school in Arriba, CO.
On June 30, 1931, she married Claude Rogers, Sr. in Burlington, CO. After the death of her husband, Hester moved to Brush in 1967. She worked in the dietary department of Sunset Manor Nursing Home and later Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, retiring when she was 85 years old.
While living in Brush, Hester had attended the Church of Christ in Fort Morgan. She had served on the board of directors of CFO (Camps Furthest Out) for several years. She loved listening to gospel music and watching the Denver Broncos. Hester especially enjoyed bowling.
