She was born September 23, 1936 in New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late John and Isabel DeCosta.
In her younger years, Barbara modeled for Liz Claiborne in New York, NY, (a job that she was always so proud of). At age 39, she went back to school (HACC) earning her degree as a registered nurse. After many years of being a compassionate caregiver, she retired from the Lebanon VA Medical Center where she worked as a psychiatric nurse. Most recently she was a member of Palmyra First United Methodist Church and the Mohler Senior Center, Hershey.
Barbara is survived by; daughter, Cindy E. (Randall) Lesher of Hershey, and Trudy A. Sullivan of Palm City, FL; four grandchildren, Austin and Randi Lesher of Hershey, and Ashley and Britney Sullivan of Palm City, FL; a brother Bert Caton of Dartmouth, MA; and her former husband, Miles D. Daub of Hershey.
Gardening, Tai Chi, cryptograms, crossword puzzles, and actioned packed movies were things Barbara enjoyed. She was a caring and loving mother who always wanted the best for her daughters. She will be deeply missed by her family and always remembered.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11 am in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, of Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Grane Hospice Care Harrisburg, 4 Lemoyne Drive, Suite 201, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
