CRESWELL - The funeral will be held Dec. 10 for Earl Louis Grousbeck of Creswell, who died Dec. 6 of age-related causes. He was 89.

Grousbeck was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Creswell to VanEarl and Anna Stukey Grousbeck. He married Francile Powell on Feb. 15, 1941, in Vancouver, Wash.

A lifelong Creswell resident, he graduated from Creswell High School in 1935 and attended the University of Oregon for one year. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea in the South Pacific.

He worked heavy construction on bridges and dams for Lillebo Construction Company. He enjoyed gardening, sporting events, travel, bowling, football, baseball and spending time with his family. He is a charter member of Boy Scout Troop 28 and of the Creswell VFW No. 4039. He is a past member of the Creswell Grange, served on the Creswell City Council for 12 years and four years on the Lane County Resource Recovery Advisory Board. He served four years on the Lane County Democratic Central Committee and is a member of Creswell Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Gayle Jordan of Creswell and Becky Meyers of Citrus Heights, Calif.; one son, Donald, of Creswell; a brother, Irbine, of Creswell; a sister, Alma Clark of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Creswell Presbyterian Church. Friday's service will be at 2 p.m. at the church, and burial will follow at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery. England's Creswell Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Casey Eye Institute at the Oregon Health Science University in Portland.
