Julia was the daughter of Erastus Benton Hall and Margaret Elizabeth Anderson. She married William Lacy Futch on February 7, 1914 in Fayetteville. Together they had one son, Robert Edward Futch, born on June 25, 1914. Mrs. Futch passed away on May 17, 1917. Her husband re-married, to Elsie May Smith in 1918, and an additional four siblings of Robert were born by 1926: Willie Vivian, Lacy Frederick, Gladys Letitia and William Vance Futch. Elsie May Smith Futch passed away in 1926, at which time the children were separated. Julia's son, Robert Edward Futch, was sent to Stonewall Jackson Training School. Willie Vivian was adopted by Walter and Addie Johnson. Lacy Frederick was adopted by Mrs. Nancy Dunn West. Gladys Letitia was taken in by James and Mary Ann Buie. It is unclear to this researcher where William Vance Futch resided after his mother's passing.
