Elizabeth Louella "Betty Lou" Abernathy, 83, she died Dec. 1, 2007, at Riverton Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 15, 1924, to Fred and Elsie (Stewart) Abernathy in Lander.

She graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School in 1942 and then went to the Pocatello General Hospital School of Nursing in Pocatello, Idaho, where she graduated as a registered nurse.

She then came back to Lander and worked for the Lander Medical Clinic for 46 years. There she was a nurse for Dr. Holtz and Dr. Tipton. She retired in 1993.

She belonged to the Wyoming Nurses Association and enjoyed gardening, rock hunting, bird watching and pets.

She is survived by nieces, Nancy Delozier and husband of Riverton and Linda McKinney and husband of Florida; nephews, Fred Abernathy and wife of Lander and Ed Abernathy and wife of Cody, and four grand-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George and Chuck Abernathy.

Burial will be at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
