Ruth Eleanor Proctor, age 87, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed from this life on Oct. 4, 2021 at the St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri wrapped in a quilt stitched by her mother. Ruth was born to Frances and Charley Zwygart in Buffalo, Missouri on Nov. 18, 1933. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Robert (Bob) Proctor, her parents, brothers, Carl and Bill Zwygart and her dear sister, Lena Fry as well as her daughter Karen Plott and son-in-law, Roger Hunt. Ruth grew up in the Cowgill, Missouri area on the family farm. She attended school in Braymer, Missouri and was an excellent student. Ruth and Bob were married on May 20, 1951 in Chillicothe, Missouri. She had been a widow for the last 16 years. The Proctors moved to Lincoln, Missouri in 1969 and continued to raise their four children, Catherine Hunt, of Raymore, Missouri, Jean (Robert) Hesse, of Cole Camp, Missouri, Karen Plott, of Joplin, Missouri, and Kenny Proctor of Tempe, Arizona. Ruth was blessed to have enjoyed and loved 7 grandchildren; Brooke, Jered, Joshua, Gabriel, Jessica, Samantha and K.C. and 9 great-grandchildren; Giana, Elyse, R.D, Nathaniel, Mackson, Emily, Sophia, Nora, Bracy and Morgan. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. Ruth had a career as a secretary then administrator of the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln for 16 years. She was first and foremost dedicated to her residents. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church and was active in her church and community throughout her life. She was known by her family as Grandma Ruth and was a steadfast wife, mother and grandparent. Her family will carry on her legacy of love. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, Missouri. Graveside services and interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer, Missouri on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 A.M.
