Nettie Bea Prevatt Hogsed, age 83, of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away on March 15, 2017 at the Custead Care Center in Orange Park with her loving family by her side. Nettie was born in Dothan, Alabama on July 2, 1933 to the late Leslie Donn and Bessie Mae Donn. Nettie was raised in Dothan, AL and relocated to Lawtey, FL at an early age. Most recently she has resided in Green Cove Springs with her son. Her main passion in life was taking care of her family, but she also enjoyed working at Archie Tanner Funeral Home and Big Dad's/Cadillac Factory as a Seamstress. She loved using her sewing talents to make clothing, curtains, and various other items for her family and friends. When she wasn't busy sewing, Nettie enjoyed fishing, bowling, and attending church. She was a longtime member of Ochwilla Baptist Church in Hawthorne and the First Baptist Church of Starke. Most of all, Nettie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Rev. George Fonzo Prevatt, Sr. and Thomas Hogsed; her children, George Fonzo "Skeeter" Prevatt, Jr. and Alice Faye Kemp; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Nettie is survived by her loving children, Gloria Prevatt of Fayetteville, NC and Jackson Prevatt of Green Cove Springs, FL; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Jason, Dewey, Ernie, April, and Christopher; 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
