Edwin Perry Curbow was the son of Oliver Perry Curbow and Harriet Emeline McGuire. On March 22, 1904 he married Bettie Francis Howard in Denton, County, Texas. The couple had the following children: Joe Perry; Cora Mae; Charles Franklin; Jessie Daisy "Kate"; and David Charles. The family spent about three decades living in Oklahoma before returning to Texas during the dust bowl years.
