NORMAN JAMES BRITT SR.
Norman James Britt Sr. passed away Sunday, December 2, 2007 at his residence in Gainesville, Missouri. He was 82 years, 2 months, and 9 days old.

On September 23, 1925 Norman was born in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Allen and Pearl (Watts) Britt. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II, spending most of his time in the South Pacific, aboard the USS Harry Lee.

In October 1947, he married Mary Ella Murtha. They raised four children living in Kansas City, Mo., California, and Springfield, Mo., before returning to Mountain Home, Ar. He worked 30 plus years as an auto body repairman, working for Ford Motor Co. and Kent Chevrolet, before opening his own body shop "Norman and Sons". On March 1, 1969 he married Winona May Walton in Lakeview, Ar. They lived in Mountain Home until December 1975, when they decided to move to Gainesville with their three children. He loved the smaller community and has made many friends here who will miss him.

Norman is survived by his wife Winona of the home, three sons Eddie Britt of Conway, Ar., Jim Britt and wife April of Gainesville, Mo., and Gene Britt and wife Penny of Gainesville, Mo.; three daughters Pat Rosson of Yellville, Ar., Sue McGowan and husband Jeff of Calico Rock, Ar., and Shawn Britt of Harrison, Ar.; two brothers Donnie and Mike; and two sisters Nadine and Sharon; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Ray, Tiny, and Ronald; two sisters Ruby and June; and one son Curtis.

Graveside Services were held Monday, December 3, 2007 at Lilly Ridge Cemetery with Dale Roberts officiating, also the Military Honors Team was present.
