R. B. Abrams Claimed At 82
R. B. Abrams, 82, of Chester, oil producer and drilling contractor for 65 years, died this morning at 8 at City Hospital, after an illness of four weeks. He resided at 530 Louisiana Ave. and remained active in the business until his illness. Mr. Abrams was born in Kendall, Beaver County, Jan. 5, 1882, and resided in this vicinity most of his lifetime. Survivors include four daughters, Miss Leona Abrams, Miss Alberta Abrams and Miss Eunice Abrams, all at home, and Mrs. Dennis (Shirley) Smith of Cincinnati; two sons, Robert B. Abrams Jr. of Richland, Wash., and John C. Abrams of Chester; two brothers, Mayor Harry Abrams of Chester, and Walter Abrams of Apples Corners and 12 grandchildren. His wife, Mrs. Pearl Allison Abrams, died in September 1963, and a son Thomas Abrams also is deceased. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the residence by the Rev. M. Rudolph Miller, minister of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown. Friends may call at the family home after noon Saturday. The Welch Funeral Home in Hookstown is in charge of arrangements.
