Chester man dies in crash

A Chester man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving, causing it to overturn on Route 8. Michael Abrams, 43, of Chester, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2 p.m. accident. According to police, Abrams was traveling north on Route 8, near Stewart Run Road in a pick - up truck when he went off the right side of the road. When Abrams attempted to return to the road the vehicle apparently struck a divot at the edge of the road, skidded sideways and then rolled over several times, coming to rest on its roof in the south bound lane. The road was closed to traffic for several hours until the scene was cleared.
