MONA'S OBITUARY
Mona Rae Hutcherson departed this life surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 84. The daughter of Elgie Adams and Fay Lorene (King) Adams was born April 20, 1937, in Enid.
Mona graduated from Enid High School. On May 29, 1955, she married P.M. Hutcherson in Enid. P.M. served in the U.S. Navy, and they made their home in San Diego for a couple of years. They would then move to Tulsa and they both went to work for Southwestern Bell. After Southwestern Bell split, she joined AT&T where she was American Airlines Commercial Account Representative.
Mona's favorite time of the day was in the morning where she sat outside on a swing, drinking coffee, watching the hummingbirds, and hoping to watch some kittens play. Mona was strong-willed and tenacious in all she did. She loved all animals, and she loved kids. The younger the better. Babies were her favorite. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren. They and all the neighborhood children loved swimming in her pool where she shouted out her grades for the dives and had her own mini Olympics.
Mona is preceded in death by her husband, P.M. in 1995.
Survivors include her sons: Hutch Hutcherson and wife, Dianna of Mannford, and Eric Paul Hutcherson of Olive; sister, Janice Adams of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Vanessa Kenworthy, Summer Burrows, April Vaughn, and Abbie Cordray and husband, Chris; and a legacy of great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Mannford, with Pastor David Boiarsky officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 12-8 p.m.
