Obituary from Deseret News (Salt Lake City, UT) - Friday, June 9, 1950:

ST. ANTHONY, IDAHO - Funeral services for Lucy Jane Carlton, 76, who died at the family home late Monday night after a lingering illness, were conducted Thursday at the St. Anthony Tabernacle, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.


Mrs. Carlton was born December 20, 1873 at Hooper Davis County, Utah, a daughter of William Davis and Polly G. Hammon Davis. She spent her early childhood at Hooper and in May 1886 came to Idaho where she continued to live until she was married to George W. Carlton at Teton, Idaho, May 4, 1894.


Following their marriage they lived at St. Anthony where Mr. Carlton was engaged in farming until his retirement a few years ago. Of their four children, one survives, Albert Carlton, St. Anthony. Mrs. Carlton was a member of the Church and served as a block teacher in the Relief Society until ill health forced her to retire. Mr. and Mrs. Carlton celebrated their golden wedding anniversary May 4, 1944.


Mrs. Carlton is survived by her husband, St. Anthony; two grandchildren; the following brothers and sisters: Sam Davis, Ogden, Utah; G. R. and A. M. Davis, Wilford, Idaho; Mrs. Alice Busk, Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Mrs. Rose Thoma, Mrs. Retta Orgill, and Mrs. Myrtle Fale, St. Anthony.


Interment was at the Wilford Cemetery under the direction of the Hansen Funeral Home.
