La Harpe, Ill., June 11. -- Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie E. Hunter, 69, of Burlington, Ia., will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 in the Banks and Beals funeral home here with the Rev. Faye Willey in charge. entombment will be in the La Harpe mausoleum.
Mrs. Hunter died suddenly Sunday afternoon at 3 on a Burlington railroad train near Galesburg. She was returning home from a visit with a daughter, Mrs. Vera Morrissey of Geneseo.
Mrs. Hunter was born July 6, 1893, at Disco, a daughter of Austin and Ellen Inghram Gittings. She was married to James Nelson Hunter in Carthage June 5, 1912. He died last Dec. 30. After their marriage, she and her husband lived here for several years, before moving to Carmen and Lomax. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter moved to Burlington 13 years ago. She was a member of the Lomax Christian church.
Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Morrissey; a son, George, of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Lula Hayden of Burlington; a brother, Robert Gittings of Lomax; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Fred, eight sisters, five brothers and a grandson.
