Curtis, known as Al to his family and friends, was born March 22, 1937 in Warrensburg, son of Curtis Ray Holloway and Dona (Barnhart) Holloway.
He graduated from Warrensburg High School and served in the U. S. Army.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Marker on August 19, 1960 in Warrensburg and the couple made their home at Ft. Benning, Georgia. While performing his military duties in South Korea, his wife and first child, Mark, moved to North KC to be close to family and friends. Upon discharge, Curtis reunited with his family and remained in North KC before moving to Arlington, Texas in 1970 before settling in Topeka in the mid-70s.
Curtis received his bachelor's degree from University of Texas at Arlington and worked as an electrical sales specialist. He enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, reading mystery novels, beating his sisters-in-law in croquet, playing golf, watching all sports, and was an avid fisherman. Always quick to grab a baseball bat and glove for some backyard baseball practice, Curtis was a go with the flow kind of person that always put his family and friends needs before his.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law: Michael and Carolyn Holloway of Wichita, KS; and two granddaughters: Evan (9) and Murphy (6).
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Margaret in 2005; and two sons: Mark in 2000 and Christopher in 1966.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 4th at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Gina Johnson of First Christian Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.
