Husband and wife, Eric Max Haag, age 81, and Donna M. Ainsworth Haag, age 76, of Heyburn, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Max was born January 10, 1926, in Burley, the son of Eric Gust and Edith Leone Anderson Haag. He received his schooling in Burley, graduating from Burley High School. He then continued his education at the Albion State Normal School. Max served in the U.S. Marine Corps from June 22, 1944, until his honorable discharge on August 8, 1946, receiving the Purple Heart.

Donna was born January 24, 1931, in Twin Falls, the daughter of Lorous Melvin and Myrtle Barlow Ainsworth. She received and completed her education in Twin Falls.

Max and Donna were married on December 27, 1947, in Twin Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 20, 1967. Together they raised four children, Eric Robin, Nannette, Rodney Melvin and Kevin Mark. They have resided in the Mini-Cassia area most of their lives. During their working years, Max worked at various jobs retiring from the J.R. Simplot Plant in Heyburn. Donna worked for many years at Price's Cafe prior to working in food services at the old Cassia Memorial Hospital and retiring from the now Cassia Regional Medical Center.

They both were active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where they served faithfully in various capacities. However, one of their highlights was doing temple work at the Boise Temple. Max enjoyed hunting, fishing and ceramic painting while Donna loved collecting bells. Spending time with family was one of the most important values they treasured.

Together, they are survived by three sons, Eric Robin (Terry) Haag, Rod (Carla) Haag and Kevin (Laura) Haag, ten grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Max has three sisters who survive him, Julia (Jack) Holland, Betty Jean (Carl) Heiner and Carleen Hiedle; and Donna has one brother, Melvin Kay (Mary) Ainsworth, who survives her. In addition to their daughter, Nannette Miller, who died in the same accident, they were preceded in death by their parents; and Donna's brother, Leon Barlow Ainsworth; and sister, Rowena May Ainsworth.
