Charles Walter "Chuck" Ruse age 80 of Oskaloosa, KS died Monday September 27, 2021 at Heritage Gardens in Oskaloosa, KS. Chuck was born March 6, 1941 in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He was the eldest son born to Forest Walter and Thelma Eileen (Parrish) Ruse. He attended school in Neosho Falls. Graduating with the class of 1959. After high school, Chuck enlisted into the Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He then went to work as a truck driver for a number of year and then as a heavy equipment operator at a rock quarry. Chuck worked for the Linn County Road and Bridge as a Mower. Retiring in the early 2000's. On June 10, 1962, Madelyn Jene Wolf and Chuck were united in marriage in Iola, KS. They became the parents of three daughters, Teresa, Shirley and Misty. The family made their home in various places such as Neosho Falls, Chanute, Texas, Humboldt, Osawatomie, LaCygne and then recently Oskaloosa. In Chuck's spare time he enjoyed watching RFD TV and NASCAR. He and Madelyn loved to go camping and he liked to fish. They attended Cowboy Church in LaCygne and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Leroy, KS. He was preceded in death by his daughter Misty Lea Ruse and his parents. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Madelyn of the home, daughters Teresa (Steven) Garst and Shirley (Arthur) Obrock, grandchildren, Alexander (Kyley) Garst, Christian Garst, Cameron Garst, Madison Garst, Andrew (Allison) Obrock, Zachary Obrock and Douglas (Sara) Obrock, Seven great grandchildren and one on the way and three step great grandchildren.
