Parents: Clarence and Zelma Cowell

He was one of six children. After moving to Pueblo Colorado in 1953, he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Buckles in June of 1957. They were married for 34 wonderful years and had four children. Beverly passed in February, 1992. He remarried Judy Carter in August of 1993 and they were married for 24 wonderful years. Judy passed in October, 2017. He was preceded in death by sisters Mary Sue Cowell, Pauline Yoder, Phyllis Bonewell and brother Lytle Cowell. He is survived by his sister Carolyn Manley (Gene Lindberg) and sister-in-law Anita Cowell, his children Deborah Uren (Claude), Pamela Bruno (Duane), Brian Cowell (Sherry and Robin), Candace Piccone (Tony), step children Susan Bagley (Rod), David Bagley (Deanna), his grandchildren Nichole and Brett Hallisey, Kim Harrigan (Tim), Jon Uren, Kara Doone (Seamus), Riley Cowell, Carly Uren (Adam), Sydney Piccone, Kevin Bruno, and great grandchildren Amelia and Jack Harrigan, Aiden, Austin and Emma Stewart, Kennedy and Wyatt Doone.

He moved to Pueblo after high school and received his degree from Pueblo Junior College. Cal had a very distinguished career of over 40 years in the Credit Union industry before retiring in 1996 as a District Vice President for the nationwide company CUNA Mutual Insurance Society. He was a devoted Christian who loved his church family, and was always willing to give back to his community by volunteering with organizations such as Hope House Colorado (supports teen moms) and Lake Arbor Optimist. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, cooking, traveling, the Denver Broncos, and entertaining family and friends with his singing especially his favorite song, "Rocky Top". Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
