Marva Rae Goring Hatch, age 88, passed away peacefully September 24, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born May 4, 1933, Marva was raised in Salt Lake City, attending South High School. She later spent two years studying "fun" at Brigham Young University. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in the Primary, Relief Society and Young Women's organizations, and later serving in the Salt Lake Temple which she absolutely treasured.

Marva married Kendall Price Hatch, August 11, 1960, in the Salt Lake Temple after meeting at the University of Utah Union Building where she worked in a job she loved. Together they raised four children who are her absolute source of pride and joy. Her greatest pleasures in life came from being surrounded by them, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marva was a long-time member of the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir and greatly enjoyed traveling the continent with the Choir each summer. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker, always ready with a delicious meal, homemade brownies, "flat" cookies, and everyone's favorite - Marva's Marvelous Milkshakes! She was a warm and welcoming hostess, opening up her home and her beautiful yard for countless weddings and summer parties. She loved to garden and her rose bushes were awe inspiring. She was a lover of the arts and was a long-time supporter of Ballet West. She loved attending all the touring Broadway musicals and most especially loved attending the performances of her grandchildren. She loved cheering for her children and grandchildren in all their many sports and supported tirelessly all their school and extra-curricular activities. She was a loyal and dedicated friend to so many and was always up for fun and laughter. She never wanted to miss out on anything! Marva experienced two bouts of colon cancer in the 90s, with never a complaint, and is a true survivor! She was an AVID Utah Jazz fan, sporting her jersey on every game day, flaunting her Jazz flag outside her door, and never missing a moment of any game. In May 2021, she was featured on KSL News for her devotion to "her" boys.

She is survived by sons Mark (Teresa) and Michael, daughter Allison Nielsen (Tod), daughter-in-law Andrea, 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Kendall, parents Edmund and Martha Goring, her four sisters, and her beloved son Robert.

The family would like to thank the incredibly compassionate staff at Ashford Assisted Living of Draper, her amazing physical therapist Jamieson Stuart, and the kind and loving hospice staff of Active Home Health, most especially Amanda Olson, for making her last years so comfortable and filled with love and happiness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah. Friends and family may call beginning at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Social distancing is appreciated.
