Mrs. Anna Gawne
Mrs. Anna Gawne, 642 East Butler St., Mercer, widow of Philip Gawne Sr., died at 1 a.m. Thursday in Orlando, Fla., where she had been visiting a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William (Jean) Bruce. She was 71.
Born in Jefferson Twp., Dec. 17, 1889, she was a daughter of John and Melissa Kremm Moyer.
Mrs. Gawne was a member of Mercer Methods Church.
She was married three times, her husbands preceding her in death. Claude Wright died in 1915, James Burns in 1946, and Mr. Gawne in 1957.
Besides Mrs. Bruce she is survived by three other daughters Helen Ruth, wife of Ellsworth Gawne; Merle Mae, wife of Dallas Thompson and Betty, wife of Howard Meade, all of Mercer.
Other survivors are seven stepchildren, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Mrs. Lena Swartz and Mrs. Pearl Wike, and a brother, Frank Moyer, preceded her in death.
