Ira T. Bostic
Stallings
Mr. Bostic age 76, entered into eternal rest at Hospice House of Monroe on Thursday, February 2, 2017 following a brief illness.
He was born July 14, 1940 in Greenwood, SC to the late Charles W and Carrie K. Bostic. He was educated in the public schools of Greenwood County, SC, and received his BA degree from Lander University in 1962
Mr. Bostic's professional career spanned more than 48 years in the synthetic fiber, film, chemical and plastics extrusion machinery industry. He was employed 12 years as vice president of Leesona Corporation, Warwick, Rhode Island. He also served as president of Extrusion Systems & Designs, vice president of R&S Textile Machinery Company, and president of HGB Corporation. He served in Latin America, Asia, Europe, Mexico, Central and South America during his working life. Ira retired from HGB Corporation in 2010 then started a new venture, working for Heritage Funeral Homes.
Ira was a member of Stallings United Methodist Church, Stallings, where he served faithfully as a servant of his Lord and Savior. He was a former member of Indian Trail Lions Club, and served on many civic and charitable committees and boards over the years
Ira is survived by sisters, Doris Mullis of Charlotte, Marie McFarland of Matthews and Elizabeth Holland of Greenville, SC, a host of nieces and nephews and his Heritage Funeral Home family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: James A. Bostic, Jack. M. Richie and Wayne A. Bostic.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2017 from 12PM – 2PM at Stallings United Methodist Church with services starting at 2PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Stallings United Methodist Church, 1115 Stallings Road, Stallings, NC 28104.
Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel.
