Don Stanley "Stan" Allison passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021 at age 85 while listening to Patsy Cline's music with loved ones by his side. Stan had recently moved from Michigan to Utah and was residing at Sagewood at Daybreak – Senior Living in South Jordan.

Stan was born in Grass Valley, California on March 12, 1936 to Don L. Allison and Helen LaVonne Taylor. He was the eldest of three children and grew up in Lehi, Utah with his brother, Robert Lynn and sister, Claudia Jean. He attended Lehi High School and graduated as valedictorian in 1954. He attended college at Brigham Young University (BYU) until he was called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Central Atlantic States from 1956-1958. After returning from his mission, he continued his education at BYU and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Social Studies Education. He began his teaching career in 1960 at Wasatch Junior High in Salt Lake City.

Stan married Kathryn Ann Bodily in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on August 7, 1962. In 1966, Stan accepted a teaching position in St. Clair Shores, Michigan at South Lake High School. He earned a Masters in Secondary School Curriculum from Eastern Michigan University. In addition to teaching full-time, Stan was a Staff Sergeant in the Utah Army National Guard; taught Adult Education and Summer School; coached debate, basketball, soccer, football and track; and was a substitute teacher after retirement. He truly instilled the value of hard work to his children. During his teaching career, Stan entertained his students by injecting his sense of humor, story-telling, mind tricks, "signature" rooster call, and "famous" karate scream.

Stan was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in various callings including Young Men's Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Seminary Teacher, Bishop's Counselor, and Bishop. Church members, students, friends, and his family will remember Stan for his kindness, generosity, and good-natured personality.

Stan is survived by his wife, Kathryn; eight children: Stana (Jose), Sandra (John, deceased), Steven (Glenda), Michael (Jennifer), Diana (Shawn), Joseph, Kristina (Gary), and James (Nicole); 12 grandchildren: Brinley (Cameron), Bronson, Aleisha (Sifa), Marissa, Tiffany, Aiden, Madelyn, Kayla, Charlotte, Connor, Margaret, and Genevieve; a great-granddaughter on the way; seven step grandchildren: Fernando, Angelica, Belem, Martin, Jose Luis, Antonia, and Evaristo; 13 step great-grandchildren; brother, Robert; and extended family. Stan was predeceased by his sister, Claudia Jean, son-in-law John, and grandson Isaac.
