Pamela was born on December 5, 1948 in Lima, Ohio to the late John Walter and Virginia (Pike) York. She had been married to Bill Melcher and they later divorced.
Pam was a 1966 graduate of Akron High School. She then attended Ravenscroft Beauty College in Ft. Wayne. She lived in Ft. Wayne and worked as a hairdresser for many years. Pam was a lifetime animal lover. As a young woman, she competed in many horse shows. She loved caring for her dogs, especially her dog Mya. In later years she could be found on many days watching movies, which included her favorite Asian Dramas.
She is survived by her nephew Dana Aaron and wife Jenn York, sister-in-law Linda York, cousins Channing and wife Patsy Utter, Lynne and husband Joseph Northrop, Kent and wife Carolyn Harting, Von and wife Leona Harting, Hal and wife Jennifer Harting, Karen Shriver, and Kim and husband Jeff Graham, and special friend Dauneda Shultz.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, brother Douglas A. York, cousin Kay Joan Brown, and beloved dog Mya.
