Deceased relatives include his parents Fred H. and Fannie E. Warren; three brothers Zachary Taylor Warren, Charles Reed Warren, and Leroy Warren and his first wife Marguerite Christine Cohoon.

Living relatives include wife Anna Jane Warren; daughters Catherine Gail Schwartz (William), Carolyn Anne Jones (Tony), Colette Ware (Vic); eight grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Education: Graduate of Clarksville High School (1945); attended University of Ozarks; received Associate Degree from Freed-Hardeman University; B.A. from Abilene Christian University; M.A. University of Arkansas Fayetteville; Ph.D. in English and Philosophy from University of Tennessee Knoxville; post graduate studies at University of Michigan Ann Arbor (special training in Technical Writing) and Vanderbilt University (Studies in deconstruction philosophy).
Work: Full-time minister of Churches of Christ in Bentonville, AR; Joplin, MO; Cooper, TX; Sweetwater, TN; Sycamore in Cookeville, TN. Instructor in English, University of Tennessee Knoxville (4years); Chairman and Professor of English, Tennessee Technological University (25 years), received outstanding faculty award; Associate Executive Director, The Honor Society of Phi K Phi (4 years); Executive Director, Phi Kappa Phi (7 years); served as Board member, vice-president, and president of the Association of College Honor Societies.
Professional memberships: Modern Language Association, National Council of Teachers of English, Tennessee Philological Association (served as president), Tennessee Council of Teachers of English (served as president). Presented scholarly papers annually at one of these association meetings from 1962 to 1986. A bicentennial project was the publication of Tennessee Belles Letters: A Literary Guide to Tennessee Literature. (Also a colorful literary map of Tennessee.)

Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday September 21, 2017 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home chapel with Brother Jake Chism officiating.
