Ginger died peacefully and comforted by family on September 16, 2021 in Decatur, Alabama. She was 72 years old.
Ginger was born in Decatur, Alabama on January 26, 1949. She was the oldest child born to Deva Bernice Frahn and Thomas Richard Ennis.

After attending Decatur High School, she entered the US Air Force in 1967 where she proudly and honorably served for 20 years. She began her service by being stationed in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ginger was then assigned to Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany in 1970. It was during this time period in which she met and married, Norbert Holzer. Her oldest son, Patrick, was born in 1972. Her middle son, Marcus, was born in 1977. In 1978, Ginger was assigned to Lackland Air Base in San Antonio, Texas where she spent four years as a Drill Instructor for airwomen attending Air Force basic training. Her youngest son, Adam, was born in 1979 during her assignment in San Antonio. Ginger's next assignment was a two-year rotation with the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Keflavik Naval Air Station, Iceland. Ginger's final assignment with the Air Force was with the Strategic Air Command, Offutt Air Force Base,in Bellevue,Nebraska. She retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1987 with a rank of master sergeant.

Upon retiring from the military, Ginger and her family moved to Hartselle, Alabama. She began working as a clerk with the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court in Decatur, Alabama. While raising her family, children were always an emphasis of importance. She ensured her sons were active in school activities and sports, but always emphasized the importance of education and treating others with dignity and respect. She was not only a caretaker for her own children, but always wanted to help anyone around her whenever possible. She loved spending time with and cooking for her extended family. It was not uncommon for her to have a meal and coffee prepared anytime she knew family would be visiting. On her own time, Ginger was an avid reader. The written word was special for her and she always had several books nearby. She encouraged her sons to read as much as possible and never declined when they asked her to take them to the library. Her love of children, books and education were interconnected. Once Ginger's sons were grown with children of their own, she would continue to gently encourage reading and highlight the importance of school with her grandchildren. She retired from the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court after more than 20 years of employment.

Ginger's husband, Norbert Hans Holzer, preceded her in death on March 3, 2007. She is also preceded in death by her mother, Deva Bernice Frahn, and father, Thomas Richard Ennis;and sister, Kimberly Carol Skipworth.
