Gerald C. Gowen, age 77 of Weymouth,
died November 4, 2007 in the Quincy
Medical Center.
Beloved husband of Adrienne (Pitcher) Gowen. Survived by 2 children; Ellen Gowen of Randolph & Scott Gowen of Medway, granddaughter Siobhan Gowen of Colorado.
Gerry graduated from Somerville High School in 1948; Worcester State College in 1952.
He obtained his Masters in Education from Boston University.
He served in the Army during the Korean conflict and once discharged in September 1954, taught in the Quincy School system. He was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship to teach in Edinburgh and Scotland.
On returning to Massachusetts, Gerry took up the position of Elementary School Principal in Quincy, until his retirement in 1991.
An avid bridge player and a member of the Weymouth Elks #2232 and the Weymouth American Legion, Gerry was popular and well liked by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne.
