Mary Darnall was the daughter of Colonel Henry Darnall (1645-1711) and his wife, Eleanor Hatton, the widow of Thomas Brooke. She was married on February 14, 1693 to Charles Carroll, as his second wife, and had issue.

Her burial in this cemetery is specified in Ronald Hoffman's book, Princes of Ireland, Planters of Maryland: A Carroll Saga, 1500-1782, page 387.
