Anthony M. Boscaino Jr., 73, died after a long illness on Aug. 26, 2019.
He was the son of the late Rita and Anthony M. Boscaino.
Anthony was the husband of Angela DiGuiseppe; father of Anthony Michael III and Michelle DeBiase and her husband, Gregory; grandfather of Vincent Michael DeBiase, and brother of Linda Morello.
Born in Brooklyn, he moved to Dongan Hills after marrying Angela.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to '68, and was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany. While in the Army, he traveled to Denmark, Switzerland, Amsterdam, France, United Kingdom, Austria, Ireland and Italy.
Mr. Boscaino was a police officer with the 71st Precinct in Brooklyn for 23 years. After retiring from the NYPD, he worked as a security officer at Staten Island University Hospital for 15 years
He was a fan of the N.Y. Giants and the N.Y. Mets. An avid sports memorabilia collector, he traveled all over to get autographs.
Mr. Boscaino enjoyed spending time with his only grandchild, Vincent.
The funeral is from the Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island. The wake will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. Mass is on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 80 Jerome Ave., Staten Island 10305. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrot Ave., Staten Island 10309.
