Janet T. Lochner, 68, Herscher, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at home.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1947 to James and Claire (LaReau) Lowe in Kankakee. She married John "Jack" Lochner on July 10, 1965 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Herscher.
Mrs. Lochner worked as a secretary at Riverside Medical Center for 21 years. She also worked as a cashier at Herscher IGA and Mario's Market in Herscher.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Herscher and was a charter member of Irwinite Smiler's 4-H Club, Kankakee Quilters, Herscher Council of Churches, Trinity Lutheran Altar Guild and Hannah's Circle.
Surviving are her husband, Herscher; one son, Larry (Chrissy) Lochner, Bonfield; one daughter, Kathy Lochner Smolkovich, Lake Shannon; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Karen Webber Dorsett, Texas, Irene (Larry) Shepkowski, Coal City, Mary (Gary) Koets, Ashkum, Lori Lowe, Lake Shannon, Helene DeDonato, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Jay (Linda) Lowe, Clifton, Pat (Jenny) Lowe, Herscher; and 31 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Kimberly Lochner.
Funeral services were held Jan. 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Herscher.
Schreffler Funeral Home, Kankakee, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or for the family's wishes.
