Barney was born and lived in the Springfield and Nixa area most of his life. After attending high school he finished his education at Draughon Business College. He founded and established Barney's Roofing Company in 1944.

He loved the business almost as much as fishing and hunting. Barney was very active in church most of his life. He drove church busses for Southside and High Street Baptist Church.

He helped Faye Blakey start the Bible Baptist Church. Later he was very close to Raymond Tracy and Seminole Baptist Temple. At the time of his passing he was a member Of North Nixa Baptist Church.

Barney was the main person responsible for the building of The Nixa Senior Citizens Center. Not only known as a local roofing contractor, Barney roofed many military bases including Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Fort Rucker, Alabama, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama, and even worked on the original O'Reilly Military Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Many people knew Barney for his gardens in the later years.

He was preceded in death by Juanita, his wife of 65 years; father Wilbur; mother Mary Susie; brother Howard; sister Geneva; and infant twins.

Barney is survived by his spouse Jewell; her daughters and sons-in-law, Roma and Charlie Patton, Kathy and Sherill Daniel; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Sue and Gary Scott; his son Barney L. Munhollon and wife, Kay; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Barney will be missed by many friends and family but we know he is now at home with more family and a great host of friends who have gone on before.

Memorial services were held Tuesday December 4, at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, Missouri.
