Sharon Kay Paddlety French, 65, of Mustang, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday September 9, 2021. She was born Oct. 4, 1955 in Lawton to Paul Sr. and Lucy Paddlety. She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe and also of Cherokee descent. Sharon was descended from Dohauson II on her Kiowa side. Her Cherokee ancestors came over on the Trail of Tears. Sharon graduated from Anadarko High School where she played clarinet in the band. She was also a talented dancer and would win contests. She was an artistic person, had many talents, a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved to share stories of growing up and the places she had been and things she had done. She especially loved to reminisce with her siblings. Sharon Kay was a simple woman and didn't need much but she was rich. Sharon was a loyal and proud OU fan, loved rock music, crime shows, and her family get togethers. She was a great cook and her frybread was loved by many. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and she loved her donuts. She always had to have some in the house. She loved sunshine while taking in beautiful views and the joy it brought her to be outside. She sure loved her trees. Sharon married Rainsford French III on Oct. 2, 1982 at Redstone Baptist Church. They were blessed with five children, Jamie Paddlety Pettit and husband Jerel of Sallisaw, Dillon French of Mustang, Kate Vaughn of California, Sarah Abbott and husband Josh of Mustang, and Annie French of California. She loved all 13 of her grandkids Jareth, Jerek, Nevaeh, Alexis, Andrew, Jressa, Saitee, Alana, Olivia, Jerel Jr., Ariana, Alena, and Jonathan. She also had four great grandkids Jraela, Jerek Jr., Jayzleah, and Jadaya. Sharon also loved to spend time with her furry grand-dogs Elmer, Tank, Lola, Luca, and Winston Charles. Sharon Kay was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Rainsford, her parents Paul and Lucy Paddlety, her Maternal grandparents Martin and Katie Scott, Paternal grandparents David (Guoe-kau) and Magdeline (Pa-do-ti) Paddlety, sister Janice Komardley, brother Michael Scott Paddlety, and mother in law, Lena French and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her children, two sisters, Paula and husband David Woodrow of Anadarko and Diana Goodrich of Stilwell OK. One sister-in-law Carissa Deehring of California. Two brothers, Paul Paddlety Jr of Norman, George Paddlety Carter of Anadarko, and special little brother Chris and wife Amanda Bunch of Stilwell. Nieces and Nephews Terence Paddlety; Scott Paddlety; Christian Deehring; Stephanie, Stacie, and Bruce Woodrow; Andrew, Steven, and Krissa Goodrich; Quinton, Braylon and Chloe Bunch; Teresa Komardley, Meaka Komardley, Erin Wilson, Janie Parker. Also several cousins and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive family and friends on Monday September 13, 2021 at Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Ok 6-8 pm. Open viewing days prior during normal business hours. Funeral will be held 11 A.M Tuesday September 14, 2021 at Virginia Avenue Baptist Church in Anadarko and burial to follow at Redstone Cemetery.
