"Kattie" Katherine E. Copple was born on the 24th of June, 1900, in Walnut Hill, Marion County, Illinois, like her siblings. She just missed the 1900 US Census that was taken only two weeks earlier, on June 11, of the family at home in Grand Prairie, Jefferson County, Illinois.

Kattie's parents were:
Daisy Jane (Due/Dew) Copple (1879-1917) &
Benjamin Franklin Copple (1868-1944),
who were married in Jefferson County, Illinois in 1897.

Daisy & Benjamin's known children are:
Russell Franklin Copple (1898-after 1944)
Katherine "Kattie" E. Copple (1900-1921)
Roy Adre Copple (1903-1961)
Nellie F. Copple (1908-prior to 1920)

Kattie's half-sister May Copple was born in 1891 to Benjamin Franklin Copple & first wife (m.1890) Cynthia Adeline (Bundy) Copple (1871-1891,2,3,4,5 or 6) no record of her after marriage & baby May). Kattie may have known her big half-sister May who lived with them on the 1900 Census, but by 1910 Census with her grandparents, Alexander Bundy & Amanda Caroline (Carter) Bundy.

Siblings Kattie & Roy are buried in Little Grove Cemetery, as are their parents Benjamin & Daisy (their graves are unmarked, but told to be there by county historical records & obituary notices). Looking for siblings Russell & Nellie, and half-sister May. Oddly, when dad Benjamin Franklin Copple died in 1944, his obit mentions his sons surviving him, and wife Daisy preceding him, but makes no mention of any of his three daughters who preceded him in death (or, less oddly to not have mentioned, his first wife).

When Kattie died in February 1921 in Centralia, a town over from Walnut Hill, both in Marion County, she was only 20 years old, employed as a "House Girl", possibly working for a Mr & Mrs Walters in Centralia. When she was 19, according to the 1920 Census, she and her 17yo brother Roy were the last two children living at home, still in Grand Prairie, with their widowed father Benjamin Copple, then 51. (This presumes her little sister Nellie listed as 2yrs old on 1910 Census, had died as a little girl before the following 1920 Census.)

Katherine "Kattie" E. Copple died February 15, 1921, and was laid to rest two days later on the 17th, alongside family in the Little Grove Cemetery, Dix, Jefferson County, Illinois.
