LECH - Helen Jean "Babe", 89, died September 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born April 23, 1932, in Johnstown, daughter of Salvatore and Josephine (Salvino) Leppert. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Casimir A. Lech; son, Michael Lech, brother, Anthony Leppert and his wife Lena. Survived by son: Thomas, married to Cindy (Williams) Lech, daughter-in-law, Lisa (Hoover) Lech all of Johnstown; grandchildren: Lauren (Eric) Cowan, Samuel (Amanda), Nicholas (Leslie), and Jessica (Michael Wozniak), Matthew (Becky); great-grandchildren: Chandler, Madison, Noella, Skye, Ella, and Abram; and sister, Mary Magro. Helen loved to travel and did so with her sister Mary to many foreign countries. Also traveled with her husband to Bermuda and went to many train shows with her son Michael. She was involved with the Polish National Society and spent 2 terms as Director in Chicago. Helen loved to do needlepoint and had many of her works displayed in her house. She belonged to the Cambria City Community Club and was a past member of St. Casimir's Church where she did volunteer work with fish fries, perogies and gob making. She had also been a member of the YWCA where she did her water walking exercises almost daily. She had a great many friends but most of all one dear friend Judy Slusser who did everything for her for many years. Helen and Casimir owned Lech's Café and worked for 60 years until the death of her husband. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Resurrection Parish, Fr. Francis Balastino officiating. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 in memory of Helen. Committal will be held at St. Anthony Cemetery.
