G on 23 August 1862 at Camp Schuyler, New York for a term of 3 years. The twon of Cherry Valley paid him a bounty of $50.
Served out his enlistment, participating in all the campaigns that the 121st N. Y. was in, such as Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, to name a few.
He was present at Appomattox when the surrender came. Mustered out with his regiment on 23 June 1865 at Hall's Hill, Virginia near Alexandria, and across the Potomac River from
Washington D. C. Participated in the "second" Grand Review in Washington D. C.
