Friends called him Cutie from childhood days. He was a good man. He grieved for his daughter Sherry that died 2 years before he passed away.

Mr. Winford J. Bazemore, 74, of 1644 Fox Hunters Road, died Saturday, April 13, 1996, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Middleground Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Huffington officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Bazemore, a native of Screven County, had retired as a millwright. He was a member of Middleground Baptist Church, where he was active in the Middleground Baptist Church Brotherhood, and was a member of the Airport Hunting Club of Sylvania.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Arrington Bazemore; two sons, Mark Bazemore, Sylvania, and Winford J. Bazemore Jr., Blackville, S.C.; a daughter, Gwen B. Muns, Gainesville, Ga.; two brothers, Hartridge A. Bazemore, Sylvania, and Paul Bazemore, Garden City; three sisters, Thelma B. Connor, Evelyn B. Poythress and Pauline B. Jenkins, all of Sylvania; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Odom, Kerry Hodges, Clifford Lee, Johnny Sheppard, Warren Poythress, Dennis Poythress, Bobby Connor and Billy Sheppard.
