Obituary:
Anniston - Mary Emma Ligon, 85, died Friday, September 10, 2021, at her residence.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked for a florist for 30 plus years. Mary loved baking cakes and sharing them with her family and friends. The ironing board was a permanent fixture in Mary's home, she wouldn't let anyone leave without freshly ironed clothes.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Seaborn and Rilma Ward; her husband, Wilbur Ligon; and a daughter, Debra Cavender.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie (Bruce) Gravitt; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian Ligon and Terry (Glenda) Ligon; a sister, Betty Waters; grandchildren, Allen (Robyn) Cavender, Andy (Taylor) Cavender, Kristi Ligon, Jason (Samantha) Ligon, Jennifer (Stuart) Bentley, Andy (Rachael) McCormick, Josh McCormick, and Morgan Geier; 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Harper and Rev. Rodger Brothers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Allen Cavender, Andy Cavender, Roland Cavender, Drew Cavender, Stuart Bentley, Justin Allred, Brendan Cavender, and Jason Ligon.

Burial will follow in Forestlawn Gardens.

Visitation will be Monday, September 13, 2021, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
