Indian Land, SC - - Doris Martin Bryant, 92, formerly of Gaffney, SC., went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Atrium Waxhaw. Born in Gaffney, she was wife of the late 1 LT. Pearl Graham Bryant, Jr. and the daughter of the late John Joe (J.J.) Martin and Geneva Carr Martin.
Surviving is a son, John Bryant (Vicki) of Indian Land; a daughter, Kathy Bryant (Mark Turits) of Montclair NJ; four grandchildren, Graham Bryant (Tiffany), Emily Bryant (Jordan), Jack Turits (Jordy) and Jesse Turits (Kara); three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Martin; and four sisters, Edisto Cudd, Martha Robbins, Vivian Jolley and Benita Hill.
Doris loved flowers, feeding and watching birds and was an artist, who loved to paint. She was a former owner/operator of a Daycare, where her children affectionally called her "Aunt Dot".
Mrs. Bryant was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 1:45PM on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Blakely Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow at 2:00PM in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Masks and social distancing are requested.
