Ridgeway - Ruby Elizabeth Vivian, age 89, of Ridgeway, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2007 at Bloomfield Manor. She was born on March 22, 1918, a daughter of Carl and Buella (Chatt) Olson. She attended rural schools in the Ridgeway area and later Ridgeway High School. Ruby was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was everything to her. She had love for flowers; that love had her joining the Olbrich Garden Club, which she enjoyed very much. She married Richard Yapp in 1936 and later divorced. Together they had three children, Carolyn, Richard and Sue. In 1951, Ruby married Nevin Vivian. They celebrated 54 years together until his death on December 30, 2005.

Ruby is survived by her children, Carolyn (Howard) Rideout, of Dodgeville, Richard (Noreyne) Yapp, of Mill Valley, CA and Susie (Tom) Lang, of Hayward; her grandchildren, Bruce (Barb) Rideout, of Madison, Robin (Stan) McGraw, of Mineral Point, Mark (Vicki) Rideout, of Darlington, Todd (Carissa) Rideout, of Mineral Point, Julie Hayes, of Foster City, CA, Jami Beatty, of San Mateo, CA, Kim (Greg) Schultz, of Stone Lake, WI and Robby (Kim) Lang, of Hayward; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Burnett Olson, of Elmira, New York and Dean (Bernadine) Olson, of Montfort; her sister-in-law, Ann Olson, of Cobb, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Nevin, her brother, Norman, and two sisters, Gladys Harris and Alice Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Rev. Charlene Bennett will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
