Cindy Rodenburg, age 68, passed away peacefully at home in Omaha, NE, September 5, 2021.

She was born on July 22, 1953, to Bernie and Jacqueline (Kuhn) Gibbons in Council Bluffs, IA.

She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1971.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernie Gibbons and brother, Rick Gibbons.

Cindy is survived by her husband Ric Rodenburg; mother, Jacqueline Gibbons; children, Jessica Irwin and Kristopher (Bri Smith) Rodenburg and Ryan (Jessica) Rodenburg; sister, Sheila Gibbons; mother-in-law, Betty Jean Rodenburg; grandchildren, Henry Rodenburg, Jackson Rodenburg, Ella Rodenburg; a host of other family and friends.

Cindy married Ric Rodenburg September 10th, 1987, they were married 34 years. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Cindy enjoyed spending time at the family lake home in the Ozarks boating, fishing, and sunbathing. She could be regularly found snuggling her dogs, Logan and Lucy at home. She was passionate about collecting glassware and was a dedicated member of many groups where she made great friends. Cindy also enjoyed yardwork, attending events for her children and grandchildren, and entertaining. She loved to cook and create new recipes that were unintentionally big enough to feed the neighborhood, but almost never went to waste after feeding the many friends that cycled through.

Cindy battled Glioblastoma Multiforme for 16 months all while continuing to enjoy her normal activities, and never complained.

She will be remembered by her generous nature, sense of humor, outgoing personality, and ability to make anyone feel like family. She impacted the lives of many.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, September 09, 2021.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, September 10, 2021. The family will direct memorials.
