TAZEWELL - Lorene E. Bussell, 87, of Monroe, Mich., died Friday at Tender Care Nursing Home in Monroe after an extended illness of a number of years.
She is survived in Bulls Gap by a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Edward F. Rudd Jr.
Mrs. Bussell was born June 11, 1918, and was a daughter of the late Thomas Benjamin and Mary Alice Easley Rice.
She was the widow of Guston Paul Bussell.
Survivors, in addition to those listed above, include her sons and daughters-in-law: Kenneth and Wilma Buchanan of Morristown, Lynn and Rolena Bussell of Ypsilanti, Mich., Robert and Donna Bussell of Cartersville, Ga., Paul and Gloria Bussell of Monroe, and Steven Bussell of Morristown; another daughter and son-in-law: Darlene and Randy Gregg of Raleigh, N.C.; a stepson and his wife: Henly and Gladys Bussell of Jonesville, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters: Tennie Love, Amanda Blevins, Bonnie Myers, and Dolly Price; and a brother: Bill Rice.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ken Cole will officiate.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Her grandchildren will be pallbearers.
