Sara Louise Deneke was born on September 16, 1964 in Osborne, Kansas, the daughter of Edmund and Adeline Mick Arnoldy. She died on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas at the age of 43 years, 1 month, and 7 days. She grew up in Tipton, and graduated from Tipton High School in the Class of 1983. Following graduation, she attended Fort Hays State University, where she earned her associate's degree. On February 7, 1987, she was united in marriage to Tom Deneke in St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit. Two sons, Luke and Grant, were born to this union. Sara had many interests, which included crafts, scrap booking, photography, and camping. But, she mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, and never missed her sons' sporting events. She was a kind-hearted person, who would drop anything at any moment to help out. She worked as a program technician for the Farm Service Agency in Beloit for 20 years. Sara was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, the ladies guild, PEO, St. John's Booster Club, and her prayer group, and was very active in so many civic and school activities and organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her father-in-law, Edwin Deneke. Sara is survived by her husband Tom of the home; her two sons, Luke and Grant of the home; one brother, Francis Arnoldy and his wife Donna of Downs; five sisters, Sylvia Ringler and her husband Greg of Sylvan Grove, Rose Arnoldy of Des Moines, Iowa, Helen Hullman and her husband Kim of St. John, Kansas, Lucy Arnoldy of Wichita, and Maxine Arnoldy of Kansas City, Kansas; her mother-in-law, Rosemary Deneke of Beloit; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pat and Chris Carlin of Alton, Joe and Lori Deneke of Lincoln, Kansas, and Matt and Cathy Dillon of Beloit; three great nephews; two great nieces; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 27 at St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Friday at the McDonald Funeral Home. A parish vigil and rosary service will be at 7:00 PM at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Luke and Grant Deneke Educational Fund or the St. John's Memorial Trust Fund.
