Grady Hausenfluke, 75 of Coleman, died Monday, September 6, 2021 at Coleman County Medical Center.

The family will host a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chas Shira, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

He was born Grady Lee Hausenfluke on August 30, 1946, in Coleman, a son of Jake Hausenfluke and Julia Haydik Hausenfluke. Grady grew up in Coleman where he graduated from Coleman High School in 1964. He then graduated from Texas A&M University in 1969, with a B.S. Degree in Education and a minor in business. Grady had many adventures during his lifetime. He was the vocational instructor and department head for seven years at Pittsburg Independent School District in Pittsburg, Texas. Grady then worked as plant manager for West Texas Linen Company in Abilene, Texas. He also worked at Hawley Independent School District as a secondary teacher and head of the vocational agriculture department. Grady was owner and manager of Big Country Marine of Abilene. He then started a career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Grady worked for the Windham Independent School District in the Huntsville Prison System; was an instructor at the Wallis Unit in Colorado City, Texas; was an instructor at Sanchez in El Paso, Texas; and retired from the Middleton Unit in Abilene, Texas in 2013. Grady was also a licensed airplane pilot.

Grady married Allene Guffey on June 29, 2002, in Las Cruces, New Mexico and have spent 19 wonderful years together.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Grady loved his family and will be missed.

Grady is preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Julia Hausenfluke, and stepson, Padraic Guffey.

He is survived by his wife, Allene Guffey of Coleman; two daughters, Wendy Romano and husband Mike, along with their children, Sophia, Landry, and Anthony, of Orlando, Florida, Callie McFadden and husband Justin, along with their children Landon, Sabastian, Logan, Sadie, and Lynlie, of Bonham, Texas; a son, Matt Hausenfluke and wife Jodie, along with their daughter Grace, of Garland, Texas; a step grandson, Cooper Guffey of Las Cruces, New Mexico; one brother, Melvyn Hausenfluke of Grand Prairie, Texas; his aunt, Shirley Farr of Georgetown, Texas; several cousins; and a lot of friends.
