Edward Beesley was the son of William and Susannah (Smith) Beesley. Edward married (1) Eliza Ann Miller- January 26, 1860 Franklin Co., IN (2) Mary Ellen Woody-October 8, 1873 Boone Co., IN. Edward and Eliza had 5 children - Susanna "Susie" (Beesley) Woody, Lewis William Beesley, Joseph Lincoln "Link" Beesley, Ella (Beesley) Martin and Leora "Ora" Beesley. Edward and Mary Ellen had 6 children - Ruth Pearl (Beesley) Elliott, Ralph Nathan Beesley, Della Morris (Beesley) Barker, Richard Carl Beesley, Hugh Beesley and Oscar Beesley.

Edward died of a fracture of the hip in an accidental fall.
