Roma was a very talented, wonderful artist and she taught at Oregon Society of Artists and at Village Gallery in Cedar Mill. Roma was also a talented musician and she played piano and violin. She was a member of Oregon Society of Artists and Cedar Mill Garden Club. Roma also enjoyed working with ceramics and for a time, she operated a ceramics studio.
Roma met Clarence Leuthold at a dance in Portland in the mid 1940's. They were married in 1945 and bought their home in Cedar Mill in 1946. They had three sons: Marcus R., Daniel J. and Norman T.
Roma will be remembered as someone who was respected among her peers and very well-liked by her colleagues. She was determined, humble, kind, and giving. She was generous with her time and her talents and took great pleasure in helping others to develop as artists. Roma was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and friend and she will be greatly missed.
Roma is survived by her loving sons, Marcus, Daniel, and Norman Leuthold; and grandchildren, Nathaniel Marcus and Roma Lyn Elizabeth Leuthold. She will be privately laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, OR. On her 100th birthday, she was congratulated by Willard Scott on "The Today Show."
