She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Raymond Pierce and daughters, Debbie Leasure and Janis Kuykendall.
She is survived by her older sister Lusadia (Brim) Mifflin; daughter, Donna Nicholson; son, Gary Pierce (Tammy); son-in-law, Virgile Kuykendall; grandchildren, Douglas Standiford (Delana), Danny Standiford (Jennifer), Dustin Pierce, Donald Woods (Pam), Jason Donahue (Charlotte), Jasmine Hanifen (John), Rhonda Daulton (Charles), Wayne Atwood and Andrew Riley (Kayla.) Anita also had 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews, and was Mamaw to many foster children. She had 4 sets of 5 generations in her family!
Anita was a member of Pleasant Home Southern Baptist Church in New Albany.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 8th, 11am – 1:30pm with funeral service to follow at 1:30. Anita will be entombed next to her husband at Graceland Memorial Park.
